Straight answers, including the inconvenient ones
15 questions about what happens in a session, what it costs, what happens to your work, and the things the tutor refuses to do.
If an answer here is vague, it is a bug in the copy — tell us and it gets fixed rather than reworded around.
Everything we are asked

What actually happens in a session?
You pick a subject and say what you are working on. The tutor starts by asking a question about what you have already tried, and works one hint at a time from there. You can type, hold the mic to talk, or draw on the whiteboard, and you can do all three in the same session. When you end it, you get a short summary of what was covered.
Is it free?
The planned Free plan includes three sessions with every feature available and no card. After that, Student is S$19 a month for 30 sessions and Family is S$39 a month for unlimited sessions and up to four learners (all prices in Singapore dollars). Billing is not enabled in this build, so right now nothing is charged and the demo allows five new sessions an hour.
Can it do my homework for me?
No. Not giving the answer is the single rule the tutor is built around. If you ask for it outright, it acknowledges the ask, says it will not give it, offers exactly one hint and asks what you have tried so far. A reply that looks like a completed solution is flagged by a rule-based check — a review aid that can miss things — and a flagged reply is still shown, and marked, rather than quietly rewritten.
What happens to my work after a session?
Your transcripts, your whiteboard snapshots and any uploads stay with your account so you can come back to them. Voice clips do not: they are transcribed once and discarded. Nothing in this build deletes a session — there is no delete action yet, and the record stays until there is one.
Which subjects and grades do you cover?
42 Singapore MOE/SEAB subjects (344 skills in total) across Primary 3–6 (PSLE), Sec 1–4 (O-Level / SEC) and JC 1–2 (A-Level). 4 O-Level / SEC Mathematics tracks are tested and ready — E-Math — Algebra, E-Math — Geometry, A-Math — Functions and A-Math — Calculus — while the other 38 Primary, Secondary and JC Science, Humanities, Languages, Commerce, Computing and Arts tracks are marked Beta while we continue benchmarking their essay, source-based and domain rubrics.
Does it work without a microphone?
Yes. Typing is a full path through the product, not a degraded one, and the whiteboard works with a mouse, a trackpad, a stylus or a finger. If your browser has no speech synthesis, sessions simply run as text and the page says so.
What does a parent see?
A linked parent gets a read-only view: mastery per subject, recent session summaries, and a count of replies flagged for review. They can read transcripts, and each session’s review — the per-skill verdict and the line of evidence it was made from. They cannot edit anything, they cannot write to a session, and they only see students who have linked them — nothing is shared by email address.
Can I use it on a phone?
Yes. The layout is built for a 360-pixel-wide screen as well as a desktop, and the whiteboard and push-to-talk controls are sized for touch. A laptop or tablet is more comfortable for long geometry problems, but nothing is missing on a phone.
Can I delete a session?
Not yet. There is no delete action in this build: a session stays on the account with its messages, its board snapshot and any uploads, and nothing in the product removes them. On the machine that runs this build, deleting the local demo data folder clears everything at once. A per-session delete — one that really removes the rows — is on the list, and until it exists this page will not describe it.
Is the tutor a person?
No. It is an AI tutor, and it says so in conversation rather than waiting to be asked. It will not claim to be a teacher, a classmate or a human helper.
Who can see my transcripts?
You, and any parent or guardian who has linked to your account using a code you generate yourself. Nobody else. Our own logs record ids, timings and rule names — never the text of what you wrote.
What if I ask something unsafe or off-topic?
Off-topic chat gets redirected back to the work, kindly and once. Unsafe or sexual content is refused, and the session continues with the lesson. If you raise self-harm, abuse or an emergency, the tutor stops the work and tells you warmly to talk to a trusted adult right now — it does not try to counsel you.
What if the tutor gets something wrong?
Say so, and ask it to justify the step. It is designed to be checked: it will not insist, and it will not invent a reason to save face. The answer-leak check is rule-based precisely so its behaviour is predictable and testable rather than a matter of trust.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in the browser. There is no mobile app, no browser extension and no download, and we do not use remote images or third-party trackers on these pages.
What happens to the file I upload?
It is stored privately against your account and used only inside your sessions. A PDF’s text is extracted page by page so the tutor can read it and quote a page; if a PDF holds no text at all — a scan, usually — the app says that rather than leaving you to assume it was read. A photo is handed to the tutor as a picture with your next turn, and it has to be a PNG or JPEG of about a megabyte or less, because that is the largest picture we can pass on: a bigger one, or a WEBP, is stored but not sent, and the app says which. One picture rides a turn, so if you have drawn on the board since sending the page, your ink takes that slot and the tutor is told the page was not sent. Either way a file is treated as untrusted text: nothing is executed, and archive or script contents are never unpacked.
Two answers we cannot give you
We cannot tell you how much your grade will improve, because we have not run a study and we do not have that number. We also cannot promise the tutor will never be wrong: it is an AI, it can be mistaken, and the right response is to ask it to justify a step.
Ask it something you are stuck on
No card, no meter, and no delete button yet — the answers below say what is actually there.
